The mission of APPEX (Agency Peak Performance EXchange) is to enable independent agencies and
the owners of those organizations to realize their fullest business potential. Success, in this
regard, is measured by the personal income of the owners, the value of the owner’s agency and
the owner’s return on equity. APPEX is an organization that creates and delivers the environment,
the perspectives, the alternatives, and the means for building the value of independent agencies.

Executive Symposia for Performance (ESP) are semiannual conferences for senior officers of
APPEX Partners/agencies that include learning and networking groups, think tanks and seminars
led by industry experts.

During each semiannual ESP, the Partner agencies break out into 12-PAX where a dozen agencies
confidentially exchange insights, issues, and information while serving as one another’s Board
of Directors. Most of these valued relationships have expanded well beyond the confines of an ESP.

of key agency performance attributes with those of the organization’s and the industry’s top
