As Vice President of Data Analytics at MarshBerry, Andy Sand leads the team responsible for transforming data into actionable intelligence that helps clients benchmark performance, uncover growth opportunities, improve operational efficiency, and make more informed strategic decisions.
Andy brings more than 30 years of experience spanning analytics, operations, product management, customer experience, and executive leadership within the insurance industry. His unique background allows him to bridge the gap between data and business strategy, helping clients not only understand the numbers, but also apply them to achieve measurable outcomes. Having managed significant P&L responsibilities, built high-performing teams, and led complex business operations, he understands firsthand the challenges and opportunities facing insurance organizations in a rapidly evolving marketplace.
Andy began his career at Progressive Insurance, where he developed the analytical, operational, and leadership foundations that would shape his career. Over time, he advanced into increasingly senior roles, ultimately leading a $350 million commercial auto product portfolio at Farmers Insurance. His broad experience managing product performance, profitability, and growth provides valuable perspective for clients seeking to optimize business results through data-driven decision making.
In addition to his product and P&L leadership experience, Andy has built and directed large-scale sales and service organizations, including high-volume call centers at Progressive and the California State Automobile Association. These roles strengthened his expertise in operational excellence, customer engagement, workforce performance, and scalable business processes.
Prior to joining MarshBerry, Andy was active in the insurtech sector, where he helped launch and scale two early-stage ventures. Working at the intersection of insurance, technology, and innovation further expanded his perspective on industry transformation and emerging opportunities, enhancing his ability to help clients navigate change and capitalize on new growth avenues.
Andy holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Logistics from The Ohio State University and an MBA from Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management.
