
As a Director at MarshBerry and a trusted advisor to founders, executives, and board members across the independent wealth management landscape, John leads end-to-end execution of mergers and acquisitions, including transaction strategy, valuation, due diligence, structuring, and negotiations. His mandate also includes strategic growth advisory and the delivery of high-impact client solutions that drive long-term enterprise value.
John brings over 20 years of experience across financial services and strategic finance, with a proven track record in M&A, business development, and capital allocation. Prior to joining MarshBerry, he held senior roles at The Vanguard Group, Morgan Stanley Investment Management, and Nationwide Financial, where he led initiatives across mutual fund distribution, technology investments, and product innovation. Most recently, he served as Associate Vice President for Nationwide’s Investment Management Group, where he led acquisitions and strategic partnerships. In this role, he was responsible for all aspects of deal origination and execution, including integration planning, transaction structuring, and coordination across enterprise stakeholders.
John began his career as a chemist at Quaker Houghton, working in the Cold Rolled Steel Laboratory, where he supported product development and technical solutions for global industrial clients. That hands-on foundation continues to inform his disciplined, analytical approach to corporate strategy and deal execution.
John currently maintains the FINRA Securities Industry Essentials (SIE®) Exam in addition to the Series 7, 79, and 63 FINRA Registrations through MarshBerry Capital, LLC, the affiliated FINRA-registered broker-dealer of Marsh, Berry & Co., LLC. John earned an MBA from Widener University, a BS from Temple University, and completed executive education in Mergers & Acquisitions through The Wharton School.
